The finding · Evidence: one vendor survey

All five were seen. Four lost.

About 4,000 business buyers, purchases of US$25,000 or more. Each buying group weighed about five suppliers and picked one. Being seen got every supplier onto the list; it didn’t decide who won. 6sense ran the survey, and sells software to business marketers.

The fix · This week, by hand

Publish a price range.

Buyers ask what it costs early. If your site won’t say, an assistant answers from somewhere else, or not at all. A range, with the date you set it, is enough to stay on the list at Buying.

  1. Find the page buyers reach when they ask about price.
  2. Write the range, what it includes, and the date.
  3. Ask an assistant what you charge next week, and note the answer.

The receipt · Our own score

We take our own advice.

Every issue carries RocMode’s latest scoreboard, up, down or flat, on the same questions and the same method.
